“Hugh has been trimming and shoeing my horses for the past 4 years. He is wonderful with all the horses, always calm and in control and never stresses them or becomes stressed himself. He has improved the quality of hooves on all my horses ranging from a little welsh companion via a thin soled connemara, a crumbly hooved wlesh d and an arthritic cob to a tb with very weak hooves with little space to put a nail in. He has demonstrated a wide range of diagnostic and remedial skills including the application of gels, changing the shape and nail pattern of the shoe, trimming to rebalance and reduce arthritic pain and changing the type of shoe and nail. In all cases he has been successful in improving hoof quality, reducing ‘footiness’ post shoeing and increasing comfort for the horse.”
